The most popular live video game streaming service, Twitch.tv, has released a premium service today called ‘Twitch Turbo.’ The service offers many of the usual frills of a gaming service subscription such as exclusive badges and such, but more importantly is the removal of all ads. Viewers of Twitch are forced to watch pre-roll, mid-roll, and other ads. For $8.99 a month these can be removed. Probably not worth it to the casual gamer, except for followers of shows like Destructoid’s. But for the hardcores looking to submerge themselves into a game to watch the pros and learn strategies, the service is likely more than worth the cost. Especially those participating in Activision/Xbox Black Ops II tournament. A game whose support was added to Twitch last week.
